Tessera

Terms of service

Last updated 18 August 2026

The service

Tessera, run by HealthSyncX, is software for recording, organising, coding, searching and exporting de-identified clinical research cases. It is a research data tool, not a medical record system and not medical advice; clinical decisions remain yours.

Your account

You need an account to use Tessera. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and turn on two-step sign-in in Settings. You are responsible for what is entered under your account.

Acceptable use

Do not enter patient names, national ID numbers, phone numbers, addresses or medical record numbers into case fields. Use Tessera only with data you are permitted to record under your institution's rules and the law that applies to you.

Plans, payment and cancellation

The Free plan keeps up to 25 cases at no cost. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from Settings; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing you have written is deleted when a plan ends — you simply cannot add cases past the free limit until you upgrade again.

If something goes wrong with a charge, write to the support address at the foot of this page and we will put it right.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Tessera available at all times but cannot promise it. We may change or improve features; we will not quietly reduce what a paid plan holds during a period you have paid for.

Liability

Tessera is provided as described. To the extent the law allows, HealthSyncX is not liable for indirect loss arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under the law of New Zealand or of Vietnam.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand.
